Well, one day between the two of us we're going to create such a super theme that it will do everything we need it to, forever and ever. ^_^

1. That's Spam Karma working. If you post multiple times over the course of a few minutes, it marks your comments as spam. Please post just once (not twice, not three times) and your comment will go through just fine. I thought about switching to a captcha, but it works the way it is supposed to.

2. Ranting on my blog is a way of communicating with others and voicing my frustration. Apparently, it did get me pretty far. You commented, didn't you? Nothing I said was nasty, everything I said was true and if anything out of frustration. You would have noticed that had you read my last paragraph stating that I was frustrated. (I have my own personal, twenty-four hour support system thank you very much.)

3. Beta IS indeed a label and I stand by my belief that it is a cop out to hide behind imperfections.

4. In response to your comment on the previous entry, yes -- I learned that when I got the software installed.

Edit: Also, if you can't take criticism of your software, then you don't need to be providing the software. Criticism is a part of life and if you cannot take it, then I don't think you're in the right place.

Also in my original post I made the point that what you are calling "errors" are not errors - and it's a pretty nasty thing to say that Sweetcron is hiding behind a "beta" label.

The fact that Sweetcron doesn't have styles built-in to support all the feeds under the sun is not an "error", it's meant to be like that.

Sweetcron provides the platform for you to do your own styles and create your own themes using the Sweetcron API. Think of it like that. If you're not comfortable editing php, css and html then you need to wait for a "super theme" to come out that supports like a hundred different feeds with distinct styles for each one.

But when I read posts like this of people complaining about free software it pretty much kills any passion I might otherwise have for providing free themes to people. Sorry. Not blaming you but posts like this certainly don't help with open source project motivation - if you genuinely want to make a difference you can get involved with the community instead of saying nasty stuff on your blog.

Hmm, I just wrote a very long response to this, but it didn't go through. Bah.

In a nutshell - what you want is out there, you just need to look in the right places for it. Ranting on your blog isn't going to get you very far.

Come and join the support forum - there are plugins for tumblr and delicious.

But bear in mind - it's open source totally free software, you *should expect* to have to get down with some coding. Nothing is going to work right out of the box like magic, at least not exactly like you expect it to :)

No cron job knowledge is necessary. Sweetcron has a zero-configuration "pseudo-cron" option.
